DAAD short term research grant: ‘Population genetic inference using palaeogenomes from Mokrin Necropolis, Serbia’

Basic population genetic analyses, such as PCA, Admixture and f3 statistic, will be performed on 24 sequenced Early Bronze Age samples from the Mokrin necropolis (2100 - 1800 BC). The aim of the analyses is to compare the Mokrin sample with previously published genetic data of other ancient and contemporary individuals and to obtain more knowledge about population structure of the Mokrin necropolis. Furthermore, analyses could contribute to answering the questions about population's ancestry and genetic affinities of the Mokrin community.

The project is a collaboration between Laboratory of Bioarcheology, University of Belgrade, Department of Anthropology, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany and the National museum of Kikinda, Serbia.
