BA, PhD candidate

Research Assistant, Institute of Archaeology in Belgrade

Educational Background

  • 2008 BA in Archaeology, Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade

Research Interests

My research interests focus on the Neolithic of Central Balkans. I am a zooarchaeologist, specializing in animal exploitation and their role within Neolithic society. I am interested in examining the differences in subsistence strategies in the Early and Late Neolithic periods, as well as pathways of change during the Late Neolithic (Vinča culture). Also, by analysing animal remains, I am trying to reconstruct different practices – of food preparation, distribution, sharing and deposition. I am currently working on the faunal material from Neolihic sites in the Morava Valley – Drenovac near Paraćin and Pavlovac – Gumnište near Vranje.
